TB1126 – Diagnosing a running diesel filled with petrol

A speedy diagnosis can be as quick as opening the fuel cap.

A common error by diesel vehicle drivers is filling up with petrol.

When a diesel arrives at your workshop and is reported to have starting difficulties, before plugging in the scan tool, pop the lid on the fuel tank and take a whiff.

Also refer to bulletin: TB1094 – Wrong fuel. Why this can destroy diesel fuel systems and engines.
